What I call Organized Chaos

Traffic in Vietnam is interesting. Most people have motorbikes and are always tooting their horn. You toot to let people know you are there. You toot all the time whether you need to or not. So it is far from quiet. Here are a few pictures of the traffic we were in.

More of Vietnam

Just a few common sights around Vietnam. You can buy these nice creatures in the bottles at lots of shops. I decided not to bring any home. They really are quite disgusting.

Tunnel Tour

We took a tour of the tunnels they used in the war. There are 3 levels to the tunnels - 30 meters, 60 meters and 100 meters. The tunnels are very small and they have widened them for tourists. It feels like an oven in them. The local people lived in the tunnels for 20 years during the American war. It was a very interesting tour. It is in the jungle so it was very hot but we enjoyed it just the same.

The first two pictures are overlooking Ho Chi Minh City. The next one is traditional Vietnamese Outfits and instruments that were playing in a hotel we were in. And a couple more typical scenes that you see everyday in the streets here.

More Vietnam

Making Breakfast along the Mekong Delta. Working boat. Fruit we have enjoyed - Jack Fruit, Mangosten, Pomellow, Mango, Dragon Fruit, Papaya, and many more. The fruit in the last picture is Pomellow which is one of my favourites.

A fruit park we stopped in along the boat tour. The first picture is me walking a monkey bridge. The next is Dragon Fruit. Lotus flower it is seen all over and very beautiful. It only blooms in the morning. Bananas growing. Myself standing by Bamboo.

More of the Delta.

This was at the floating market. A very neat place. They live on the boats and make their living selling produce at the floating market. It is their way of life.

Mekong Delta Boat Tour

Homes along the Mekong Delta. They depend on the river. The river is their way of life. You wash clothes and pots and pans in it. You also bathe in it and the sewer runs into it. Most bathrooms from the people who live on the river go right into the river.

The little children love to use their English. So when they see you they all yell HELLO and wave until they can't see you anymore. I love the children. They are so cute and friendly.

Enjoying Vietnam

The fruit that I have in my hand is called Durian. It stinks and it tastes awful. But I got some down.
