Home Again

This post should have been done a few days ago but I came home sick and am just now feeling up to finishing it. What a fantastic trip. This is definately a place I would like to visit again and see more of. I found the people in the Yukon very friendly and helpful. The beauty can't be described or captured in pictures it must be witnessed for oneself. I will post a few more pictures of my time in the Yukon.

Klondik Man and a few pictures

Cinnimon Buns in Braeburn, Yukon

So we left today at 8 a.m. and headed an hour down the Klondik highway to Braeburn for the best cinnimon buns I have ever eaten. And huge doesn't describe them. Took some pictures on the way also.Once we were back in Whitehorse we did a little tacky tourist shopping and then the conference started. For all of us that work for the Learning Disabilities we had a special Yukon supper. One word it was outstanding. We enjoyed the local Caribou, moose, bison, pacific salmon and more. Needless to say I am stuffed and enjoyed it all. Here are a few pictures from today.

Hains Junction & Kluane Pictures

Hains Junction and Kluane Park

We had another wonderful day even though it rained most of the day and clouds were low. It was still a beautiful drive and enjoyed every minute of it. Started out at 10:30 a.m. to head from Whitehorse to Hains Junction and then out to see some of Kluane Park. On the way back we stopped at the Tikini Hot Springs but they were not opened but took some pictures anyway and got to dip our hand in the drain off pool. It is very beautiful up here and I can easily see why people live up here. Although I don't think I would like the long dark winters. This is a province that I hopefully will travel to again to see more of.

More pictures

Whitehorse, Yukon to Skagway, Alaska

What an incredible day. Wow, Wow, Wow is all I can say. Such colours up in the Yukon at this time of year. Pictures does not do it justice at all. This is definately a place that has to be experienced and felt. Well worth travelling up this way. Here are a few pictutres from today. Most are taken through the Train window or the Coach window so are not the greatest. But it will give you an idea of the awesomeness up here.

Made it!!!

Well 12 hours later and we have finally arrived in Whitehorse. From what I could see just coming in on the plane this is a beautiful place. Tomorrow we take a train trip from here to Skagway, Alaska. Looking forward to that trip and hope to post pictures from it tomorrow when we get back. Will post a few more pictures from our flight from Vancouver up to Whitehorse.

Flight Changes

We were to travel from Saskatoon - Calgary - Whitehorse. Instead we left an hour earlier to Edmonton waited there for 3 hours then to Vancouver were I am now waiting for 2 hours then to the desired destination of Whitehorse. Long day and will be ready for bed tonight. At least we will make it eventually. In the Edmonton Airport there were a bunch of little birds flying around. Enjoyed flying over the mountains. Here's a few pictures of the trip thus far

Starting Out

Well, this should be interesting me starting a blog. I am hoping I can keep you all updated on my trip to Whitehorse, Yukon and any future trips that may happen. It seems to be easiest this way to keep everyone up to date. I hope to be able to post pictures as I go along also.
